I currently have Lightroom 5, and had upgraded to 5.71. Recently had to reload my computer; I was able to reload Lightroom 5 from my disk; however, when I go onto the Adobe site to upgrade to 5.71 I find myself in a loop with no way to get to a download link for the upgrade. Not at all interested. Adobe removed all links to perpetual copy's of Lightroom, with the exception of v6.14. Two ways to get old downloads now days. Bring up Adobe.com, sign in (if not already) click on 'manage your account' (over on the left under the welcom back), click on 'view download my apps'. I’ve been a Photography Plan subscriber for 4 or 5 years now, but I decided not to renew my subscription this past spring because I legitimately only use Lightroom maybe 1-2 months of the year (when I get around to editing photos to print an annual year-in-review photobook). UPDATE.(Nov 2018): Lightroom made this a MILLION times more easy with their latest update. So before you do anything else, make sure you’re updated!

1. Open your freshly updated Lightroom Classic
2. Hop over to your Presets tab and press +
3. ‘Import presets’ and Go find the presets that you just downloaded

You guys! I just released my new presets! If you’ve just downloaded them and you’re looking at the (super unfamiliar) .xmp file and can’t figure out how to import them the way you’re used to, don’t be discouraged – we did the same thing – and failed. haha. SO we battled our way into Google and found the answer! THEN THAT DIDN’T WORK, so I called Adobe and got the answer straight from them. If you have any issues with setup, let me know ASAP- I want to help it get sorted and brainstorm with you!

Lightroom CC 1.4 and Classic 7.3 had a major upgrade in April 2018. It is Adobe’s answer to Presets that are interchangeable with LR and Adobe Camera Raw in Photoshop. It’s awesome! BUT also, there’s a new system for inserting presets.

1. Update your LR to the current version! Upgrade to version LR CC 1.4 and Classic 7.3. or newer. And while you’re at it, I THINK Adobe is requiring your computer to be updated too.

2. Then, download the presets and unzip the folder (Your computer might do this automatically)

3. Copy the .xmp preset files into your USER PRESETS folder.

- On Mac, the preset directory for the new Lightroom CC is ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom CC/Develop Presets/
- On Windows, the preset directory for the new Lightroom CC is C:/Users/{you}/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Lightroom CC/Develop Presets/
- Add your presets under User presets folder
